Genie382
Hi all, So I plan on upgrading my lighting system in about a month and was wondering what folks would recommend. Currently looking at either 1) Reefbreeders superlux (would that work for a nuvo 16?) + reefkeeper lite or 2) Nanobox duo Let me know what you all think, I plan on keeping mostly softies, LPS and have considered a clam. gus6464
Both can do even SPS just fine. Link to comment
aviator300
Both of them will do the job but as far as quality and color goes there is no comparison. NanoBox all the way. Reef Breeders lights are made by a company named "Evergrow Lighting" located in China on an assembly line. NanoBox lights are made by Small businessman Dave Fason who hand makes all his lights in Greensboro NC using all american made parts of the highest quality. You will pay almost double for the Duo over the Reef breeders but you will not be sorry. Link to comment
tibbsy07
Yeah, you're talking about two different animals here. Both get the job done, but one does it significantly better. It's like hiring 2 assassins. The reefbreeders assassin will kill the target for you, but it'll be messy and kind of sloppy. The nanobox assassin takes out the target without any mess, gets back to you and brings you a sandwich. You get what you pay for, in this case. Both work and do what you want. One just does it better. Link to comment
Genie382
I had a feeling that the Nanobox was the way to go, just wasn't sure if it was going to be a significant difference in terms of coral growth and health (for sure the nanobox looks better!). I emailed Dave and he recommended the Duo, you guys think I'll be able to get away w/ the mono for a Nuvo16. Link to comment

Genie382
Well, I guess I tried cutting corners w/ the Nuvo stock lights, I suppose I shouldn't try that w/ other lights. I may just have to bite the bullet. Link to comment
