pgrVII
I was wondering if my 9001 would fit this tank and looks like it will that said... It is very quiet,no micro bubbles(and mine is in my main tank area of my nano cube) and produces a nice tea skim. Hope this helps Link to comment
NYfishies
Hey there, I have the IM Ghost for my Nuvo 40. I have never had any other protein skimmer (this is my first salt water tank - 3 months old). I have the Nuvo 40 in my bedroom and it does not bother me at all. The skimmer is the loudest device I have, but even at that it is very quiet. Unless standing near the tank you cannot hear it. It just makes a slight rumbling/gargling sound. I believe it works well. Pulls good skim from my tank and I empty once a week at least. I could tell once when I went out of town and my auto feeder fed too many of the small pellets into my tank that it did the job. When I got back you could clearly tell that it pulled the food out of the water based on the color of the skim water. After about 1 week of the skimmer breaking in and tweaking the valve I see no bubbles. Yes, it is hidden. I am extremely anal about these types of things. I think it looks great. Hope this helps clear up some of your questions regarding the ghost skimmer. Link to comment

Pesciolino69
Hello, I have the Tunze 9001, believe me ..... it is switched off ...... as if it were a zero noise!is very small, if you give up all 'suction surface remains almost invisible in the aquarium. The mine is doing a lot of microbubbles in my tank is maturing, could be linked to this reason, the pumps have a maximum water and saturated with oxygen. You can see pictures of my aquarium and see how small it is. Link to comment
zstriker
I thought I read somewhere that the 9001 wouldn't fit the fusion 20?... Link to comment
Eckozulu
I thought about the tunze, but 110mm converts to 4.33 inches wide. Not gonna fit for my application on the fusion 10. But you could put it in the center chamber. Depth and height not a problem. You probably just have to run 2 pumps on either side. I would have gone with the tunze if I could. Link to comment
MrSexyShrimp
I got the new 9001 Comline. Keep in mind this is my first skimmer, and my tank is doing a fishless cycle right now, but I'd say it's "quiet" but nowhere near silent. (It's a pet peeve of mine when people say something is 'dead silent' and there's an obvious hum or vibration.) I can definitely hear the difference between on and off, quite clearly. It's also spitting bubbles everywhere, and the collection cup filled up with water pretty quickly. Only ran it for about 2 hours before I unplugged it. (I left the air tube wide open and aligned the water level with the mark on the side of the skimmer.) This may be the result of my n00bishness regarding skimmers. Just FYI. It might work fine once there's some actual bio-load to skim. I thought about the tunze, but 110mm converts to 4.33 inches wide. Not gonna fit for my application on the fusion 10. But you could put it in the center chamber. Depth and height not a problem. You probably just have to run 2 pumps on either side.I would have gone with the tunze if I could. The magnet on the back detaches. It's just held on with plastic clips. It won't fit in my rear chamber as-is (Solana 34 AIO) but it'll be fine once I glue the magnet to the long side of the skimmer. Maybe try that? Link to comment
Eckozulu
It's 4.3 inches without the magnet. And it sounds like you have the skimmer to low. I've never cycled a tank with the skimmer on, but I know some people do it. Link to comment

I meant, maybe you can turn it to mount it the other way, but I looked up the specs and you're right it won't fit that way either. My b. It might be too low in practice, but the instructions said to match the water line illustration on the side of the skimmer with the water level of the tank, so that's what I did ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Link to comment
jimmy_c
Go with the Ghost. I just got the 9004 (Tuesday). It works good but you have to move the whole unit up or down as your water level changes. The ghost you just adjust the rubber band not the whole unit. If I had a do-over I'd pick the IM product. Roll_Tide
Crap I just ordered the 9001 today for my IM 16 from intank! I couldn't decide so I went with the 9001...I had a feeling I would want the ghost :/ Link to comment
Eckozulu
New option!!! This guy modded a cadlights pls50 elite to fit a nuvo16. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/351489-cad-lights-pls-50-elite/#entry4839549 Link to comment
Roll_Tide
That's a cool idea. I took my 9001 and re-plumbed my mj1200 so it would fit in the sump, and used epoxy and put a magnet on the back like stevieT, the problem is that I guess the mj1200 is to big and won't alloy it to set deep enough in the tank. So for now I'm running it it the display. It has my whole display full of micro bubbles it's crazy, I'm not certain this should be going on. So looks like I'll be selling this one and getting the ghost that fits better maybe Link to comment
