I'm sure there are deals by getting them straight from the factory rather than going through the different distributors and American stores, however international shipping a lot of these larger items (Lights, Skimmers) from China can cost close to the difference you are saving from buying them here.

Yea you're probably better off getting equipment rather than live stock, cause they'll probably be the same price and will be a more risky shipment.

Most fish and corals don't come from China so the price will be similar to US. Not sure why you would use a peppermint angel as an example, it's one of th emost expensive fish you can get, they won't be selling it for 10 bucks.

Thinking about getting the razor on there only like 180 USD, which is more than half the price of marine depot. I think you can get a radion too but still a bit too steep for me. Shipping isn't too bad, depends on where you are, costs 100-200rmb for me

The Razor nano listed there is $180, Marine Depot is $289. But likely without the customer service, free replacements, warranty, and it's not as trustworthy.

Plus 150rmb ($25 usd) shipping. Pretty sure Marine Depot has free shipping for that. So like $80 savings or so, and shipping could cost more in other areas.

O sorry my bad, when I checked out the shipping turned out to be only 30rmb

 

EDIT： turns out they said i need to pay 180rmb to chip to me because it's international and the site didnt account for it. But at least I get it in 3 days...

 

2EDIT: Turns out they overcharged me shipping and they refunded me 130RMB, so shipping 60RMB

Dude, ADA items seem so cheap on Taobao. Especially the stands.... $45 for an ADA90P Stand (Preshipped).

 

Keep me updated on how your experiences are. I might just pick up an ADA stand...

I found a guide for those of you who don't know how to order from taobao, can't write in Chinese or don't have a buddy to help you do it.

 

The chick in the video is kinda weird, but it's a good guide nonetheless:

 

 

Sometimes the shipping from China to the agent is free dependent on the seller

 

 

 

Experience so far...

Customer service from the seller is good so far. They seem to have someone to reply me 24/7, which is pretty neat.

I probably wouldn't use it for fish related things (I love our sponsors and our hardware section) but they sell many types of things :)

The sweater arrived, my friend didn't mind me opening the outer packaging. All in all the material was pretty good (apparently) as well as packaging.

Wow that was quick. So you also ordered lights?

Yea (Maxspect Razor 60W) the tracking thing said it should arrive in one or two days. The delivery got delayed because of some stuff I had to sort out with the seller, I'll explain that in the unboxing
