Show off your SPS tank w biopellet reactor

I am thinking of adding a biopellet reactor to my aquarium. I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about biopellets especially when used in an SPS heavy tank. I wanted to create a thread where people who have had success w biopellets with sps could share their positive experience, effect in coral growth and color, and show off pics.

I know many people have had bad experiences and have a lot of negative things to say. There are plenty of threads about these negative experiences so please don't post that here.

I am vodka dosing on my SPS tank but the tank is new so hard to say the effects yet. Nothing bad so far anyways other than the bacteria clogs my filter sock quickly.

I have a biopellet reactor on a anenome/clam tank and thinking about moving it to the SPS tank as well.

There are definitely a lot of mixed reviews out there.

My SPS tank was running biopellets, I say was because my tank crashed (not due to biopellets) and basically have to start all over again now. Ive been running biopellets since the beginning of my tank and I havent came across any problems with it. The main thing about biopellets is you need a large enough skimmer to remove the extra nutrients from the pellets. You will be amazed the amount of gunk your skimmer will pull.

Man, I see all these threads about biopellets being terrible for SPS and such, I've had nothing but success!

I've found the trick to be really really agressive skimming, the skimmer on that 90f was rated for 100+ gallon tanks. You want to remove as much of the biomass as possible before it gets to your display. I had built a mini reactor running inside the HOB skimmer in that build

I've run pellets on a number of tanks. I prefer vodka dosing. Less of that sludge on all your pipes and rocks.

Sludge? I have pellets on 1 tank and never seen any sludge

old thread and i want to resurrect it to get a better understanding of how to be successful with biopellets, how is your reactor set up? inlets and outlets and how its all tied into your tank.
