Anyone ever see a "rainbow torch"?

Looks like an aussie gold torch to me, some are known to have neon green around the mouth. There is also a variant that they call a 'tiger torch' which is gold but has horizontal stripes running up the tantacles.

There has been an influx of slight variations to gold torches lately. Most look pretty sweet, but I get the feeling that we will be hard pressed to keep the colors in our tanks that they have when they first come in. I could be wrong though :) The one in the picture is nice, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if i were in the market for a gold torch. Idk, about it being a"rainbow" though.

My brown torch never looked like that, definitely had the green mouth though. Then again that photo has obviously been manipulated to some degree so you never know, the one downside of shopping online I guess (that and having to wait for the goodies to arrive),

maybe you should just view life through your iPhone's instagram filters, I bet you your torch will look just as brown.

My only issue with that statement is the iPhone :P .

But yes you are right, it is most likely a brown torch, the photo just looks very similar to how I see gold torches over here (in holding tanks with 100% actinic light).

I'm with you on 90% of "orange" hammers. However, they definitely do exist. I've had a couple that are in arguably orange, bright orange. They don't come around often though.

A few sites I have been to recently seem to like to say they have pink/orange frogspawns. They have always been regular light green/pink tips under crazy actinic and blues. Some corals I would just never buy based on a picture.

I saw some Gold Aussie torches in a store in LA a couple weeks ago. They were certainly not brown. Absolutely stunning looking coral if you find a good specimen. Believe the hype.

Each case is different from one vendor to the next. Just make sure you find one with a good track record and you really don't have anything to worry about.

Yeah, some gold torches are nicer than others. I've received some that were drool worthy and others that wouldn't warrant a second look (as far as gold's are concerned anyway).
