atrox
So I've noticed on a few of my frags that light doesn't hit them directly in some areas and have started to fade. What i don't understand is how some sps that grow horizontally out have undersides that never get direct light and they have uniform color. Clarification is this a problem on frags due to size and adjustment to new tanks? Link to comment
jservedio
Some species are more prone to this happening and LEDs are more prone than T5 to having this happen. That said, if the coral is happy and healthy and is getting plenty of food, this will happen much, much less. Link to comment
TJ_Burton
You'll find with T5 and MH that SPS have less faded areas - LED specifically has a bad habit of creating hard shadows leading to areas of the corals being transparent/white/faded. Link to comment
