Hecdr34
Display- 16.5 x 16.5 x 8 Frag tank- 16 x 11 x 4 Sump- 16 x 9 x 11 Stand- 17 x 16.5 x 37 Return- Maga Skimmer- SCA 301 Hi, I just finished building this system and I need some advice on a light for the frag tank. I only have about 10" of height to play with so it has to be either dimmable or not too strong. Do you guys think 2 x TrueLumen Pro strip would be ok for zoas and lps or should I just go with a DIY from like RapidLeds or any other ideas? I just want to keep it very simple and not bulky. I know for the display tank I'm going with either a Kessil 150 or AI nano. Thanks in advance 2 Quote Link to comment
FishI
Awesome looking build! Did you make the cabinet? Have you gotten it wet yet? Any problems with keeping the right water level. Quote Link to comment
Spiderguardnano
awesome build man the new kessil a160 will be coming out soon idk to much about frag tank lighting but i would say go with the same light you will be using on your display tank so when you transfer livestock you wont have to acclimate it to much did you start a build thread yet? Thank you. Yes I built the cabinet and both tanks myself. I did water test it for a week and it was all good with the water levels and free of any leaks. 1 Quote Link to comment

I love the Kessils. Thanks 1 Quote Link to comment

Hecdr34
are those the colored pvc from brs? if you painted them what paint did you use? I used Krylon Fusion to paint the pvc, the pump and the overflow boxes this is such a cool idea. I'm definitely doing something similar next time i build a tank. Thank you. I had some glass, a nice sheet of plywood and a lot of time so I decided to try something a little different. 1 Quote Link to comment

tibbsy07
I'd say nanobox or the AI prime Quote Link to comment
Hecdr34
Well I went with the AI Nano on the display and a 12" 20k BML on the frag tank. I'm thinking of selling the AI Nano and getting a Kessil a150w Ocean Blue. Here's how it looks so far. Thanks for all your help 4 Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
Love it! It looks so clean Does the glass door get any condensation? Quote Link to comment
4x5
Can't believe I haven't seen this before. Looking really good. Love the setup. 1 Quote Link to comment
Hecdr34
Love it! It looks so clean Does the glass door get any condensation? Thank you. No condensation at all. The stand has 2 X 3/4" gaps from top to bottom that helps a lot with that. So far it has been working out very well Can't believe I haven't seen this before. Looking really good. Love the setup. Thank you 1 Quote Link to comment
1MP3R1AL
Awesome setup. I would tint the front glass door. Quote Link to comment
Hecdr34
Hey thanks. I thought about it but I think it would actually defeat the purpose of the glass door. I want to be able to see the frag tank clearly. The sump light turns on when the main lights turn off at 9pm so this is the way it looks most of the time. I will also be adding led lights to the sump. I think it will looks much better than the bulb I'm using now 1 Quote Link to comment
talwen
Wow that is a way sweet setup and something I might have to do sometime. Is it all 3\4 plywood? Oh yeah also is there a way to make the frag tank stand alone? Quote Link to comment
d_adler
Whats the cabinet made from? if you don't mind could you share more or less the cabinet build? the glass front door looks amazing. My next step is to build myself a stand similar to this Quote Link to comment

They were cut to size and glued together using clamps. Quote Link to comment
