edraniam
I have a small refugium with 4 gallons of algae chaematorpha that I want to connect to a 10 gallon nano, placing it sideways in the highest position in such a way that drains by gravity. What is the ideal flow, how many times the volume of the tank? I want to know which scope should have the pump and the drain hole diameter that must have. hello Link to comment
k4ndyk1ng
Some people say very low flow so the algae isn't being thrown about. And that would be about 4-5x tank turnover per hour. It doesn't really matter because it is just up to personal preference. Link to comment
oseymour
I have a 6 gallon refugium and I turn my flow down very low. I'm not sure the GPH number but I have a HOB skimmer that is hanging on my sump and the skimmer performs better when the flow is lower. To supplement flow in the display tank I added another powerhead. Link to comment
