I meant, going with a 5" sand bed is a good reason to use a 'tall' tank from a visual perspective.

I agree, I like watching all the worms and things living in my sand bed almost as much as the other inverts and fish. All this 'little life' is one of the big pluses of saltwater over fresh for me.

Mines like a dog it circles the sand area a few times before it burys itself. 2 inches minimum for an adult. The more the better.

I love my sand bed, but I only have 2 inches in mine. 5inches in a 40B takes up a lot of room
