rawlins06
Thinking of building another rack, even though this one was such a pain, with a larger middle chamber for chaeto. Link to comment
rawlins06
Its been two weeks now. Nothing has really changed. Put the stock pump back in, have it on the back wall. Thinking of getting a spin stream for it. The in tank skimmer does not work with the 606. It reduces water flow too much with the 606. My starfish, three snails and spaghetti worm are all alive still and crawling around. Link to comment

I too have the 606 pump and was going to order the basket and skimmer on in-tank.com but if it reduces the flow too much, i'll hold off. Link to comment
lecroj
You can adjust the skimmer by cutting down the middle or pushing it lower on the grate. It has little lines on it where you can cut the center. Link to comment
rawlins06
I've cut the skimmer down all the way and it still reduces the flow too much. My hydor deflector agatates the surface just enough and my water is crystal clear. Link to comment
rawlins06
Decided against the spin stream for my stock pump on the side wall. It will just take up too much room. I am wanting to replace the hydor deflector with the spin steam at some point. The hydor creates a lot of surface turbulence. The spin stream looks like it sits lower in the tank. Rearranged my rock. rawlins06
So the hydor Theo heater is doing a good job of keeping my tank at a constant temp. Its calibration is way off and I have to set it at 72°F to keep my tank at 79. It was only $20 though, its $15 at Foster and Smith. Link to comment
rawlins06
Got a new tank inhabitant! I forgot to ask for extra shells for him. I haven't seen nassarius snail for a few days. I think I buried him under a rock when I was moving stuff around Link to comment

Cameron6796
Love the island, if you have some basic power tools you could probably (once your set on the placement of the island) make a flat side and glue the rock to the wall for a cleaner look Link to comment
rawlins06
When you get empty shells for your hermit make sure they really are empty. RIP poor little guy Link to comment
