IM Nuvo 16/Fusion 20 pump question

I have one of the Fusion 20s and have started the process of upgrading the stock parts (btw, the Intank media baskets for the Nuvo 16 work just fine) and am now looking for a new pump. The pump in the Fusion 20 is rated at the same 211gph on the IM spec sheet as the Nuvo 16, so I am assuming they are the same pump...

I read somewhere in the forums that with new tubing people have upgraded the flow on the 16 by replacing the stock pump with 2 Eheim 600s. I'm wondering if replacing the stock pump with an MJ1200 (http://shop.mediabaskets.com/Cobalt-Aquatics-MJ1200-Powerhead-Pump-MJ1200.htm) would be plug and play, i.e., would the stock hose fit the MJ1200 without modding.

Thanks!

Most AIO pumps accept 1/2'' ID and the IM16 was no different. So yes they are plug and play.

The MJ1200 accepts 1/2" ID hose so you could use the same hose. I can't comment on the length of the stock hose or if they had it split into a " Y " with two outputs as I have not seen the tank in person yet. Looks like it has two outputs online.

So you could do two pumps instead of one like I did in my IM16. Just grab some new 1/2" ID hosing which we also sell if you didn't want to get locally

The reason I went with the Eheim 600s in the IM16 instead of the MJ1200 was the depth of the chamber, I was trying to limit vibration but I still have some, it's just so skinny. I could have gone with the MJ1200.

You can add the MJ1200 with no need to change the tubing. Down the road I may split my return to two pumps, but the 1200 does a pretty good job, paired with an MP10.
