tetraodon Posted May 24, 2016 Share Posted May 24, 2016 this mantis looks to be a smasher, not a stabber. smashers have clubs that they use to break open mollusks, shrimp and such, usually staying away from fish. stabbers go for fish, they have spears instead of clubs, just to be safe, make sure its well fed and should get along with most non-predatory fish. that being said smashers can give most preds a run for their money. make sure you have a sufficiently thick glass tank or acrylic tank, they can and will bust through. depending on the size it will become it might be wise to install smash guards of thick acrylic.
