Are you talking about when it looks like some of the tips of the hammers start to separate from the heads?

I've seen that about once a month in my tank. It seems to happen when the branching hammer pops a new head.

Positive it was spawning? Not unheard of as far as I can tell but a lot rarer than cases of zooxanthelae expulsion or even pooping. If it was just little white dots definitely eggs but if any brown fluid or mucous looking stuff was with the dots it could be the latter from what I can find on it.

Does your lighting have a moon cycle?

my lighting doesnt, but my windows are relatively clear, so you can clearly tell moon phases.
