gus6464
I have the freshwater master test kit which tests for nitrate, nitrite, high range ph, ammonia, etc. Are these tests the same for saltwater or does the saltwater master test kit come with specific ones? Thinking about ordering the reef master kit instead as that one comes with stuff the regular freshwater or saltwater do not. Link to comment
joy13
The only one that doesn't work is the ph test. http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/downloads.html The freshwater kit will work until you start adding corals then it will depend on the corals you are adding if you need the reef master kit. rocksmom
The reef master test kit and the regular aren't really an either/or since they test for different things. The regular one has ammonia and nitrite which you will really only use during your initial cycle unless something really goes wrong. The reef master has your calcium, alk, etc, but are kind of a pain. You have to count every single drop which for the calcium can be upwards of 20+. I would recommend getting the red sea kits or the individual salifert ones instead. Do a search on the forum here, you will see this recommended a lot. Link to comment
