ChesterRxs
Hello, So I am currently puting livestock into my new tank. It is a 20g long, atm it has 2 damsels (that I did NOTcycle with) and I am planning to add 2 more clowns. I have another exsiting tank that has no fish atm (10g). Should I take out one of the damsels and move it to the other tank or would 2 damsels and 2 clowns do okay in a 20 gallon tank? Thanks Link to comment
joy13
It really depends on your fish my damsel is very peaceful compared to the tomato clown I put in there with her. That being said I have seen a damsel turn on any fish that is put in the tank no matter what order it was put in. Have a back up plan. I would say pick the fish you like the best to put in the tank first then put the next fish in. BTW clowns are messy eaters and will increase the bioload more than the damsels do so plan accordingly. The extra ammonia produced by 2 fish needs to be considered. Link to comment
clownfitch
You might also consider moving the both damsels to the 10 gallon to let the clowns get acclimate to the 20 and then move the damsels back in after a couple of weeks if you fear that they will be aggressive to the newly introduced clowns.
