Got a decent closeup shot today. The polyp in the middle looks like it has a small white larva looking thing on it. That same polyp was a full polyp this morning Link to comment

They eat on the tentacles like what you see. You should do a bayer dip, if you can. Link to comment

farkwar Posted September 7, 2014 Share Posted September 7, 2014 Cant see any nudis, but thats what they do to your animals. They will look just like what they eat. Dip the zoas in diluted hydrogen peroxide, that will nuke any live nudis. Get the polyps butted up first. They lay eggs is small white spirals, very hard to remove from polyp. Link to comment

gahumphrey Posted September 7, 2014 Author Share Posted September 7, 2014 nasty little critters. I haven't seen anything like that in the tank but they're so small maybe I just haven't seen them yet. could one of the fish be nipping at them too or maybe larger pods? Link to comment
metrokat Posted September 7, 2014 Share Posted September 7, 2014 Zoa eating nudis mimic the colors of the zoa they are eating. Camouflage at it's best. A simple dip in freshwater will burst the membrane of the nudis. The eggs will hatch later though, and you will need to dip again. Use a soft toothbrush to gently brush the zoas when theya re being dipped. I had them too, checking daily in every zoa colony you have and plucking them out will slowly but surely reduce their population. I had mostly colonies that could not be removed fromt he rock for a dip. I managed to remove nudibranches with daily inspections, within about a couple of months. Link to comment

farkwar Posted September 8, 2014 Share Posted September 8, 2014 One last point, if you try and catch with tweezers, youll just cut it in two, holding nothing. Suction up with syringe or baster works well. I bought a couple fish to help eradicate them, doesnt work; you need to do it. Link to comment
