MathewD
Ok every one so I've posted here a few times asking for some advice and stuff and my tank is coming along very well i think. Just want to know if everything looks good and i also is there too much circulation with both of my powerheads. pictures down below. I have 2 turbo snails (quite large), 5 bumblebee snails and 2 what i believe to be baby red striped hermits or scarlet hermits but I'm not 1000% sure, roughly 10 lbs of live rock and live sand. Ammonia = 0 nitrite =0 nitrate =<10 ppm ph = 8.2 Link to comment
charnelhouse
Looks great. How deep is your sand? Are you trying for a deep sand bed? Definitely not a scarlet hermit. Not sure what it is though. Link to comment

I wanna use a siphon but idk if thats ok. Link to comment
charnelhouse
I'm pretty new to this, so don't have much in the way of answers. Siphoning would work and I don't see where it would hurt anything. You could probably just scoop some of it out. But if your powerheads are pushing sand around, pulling sand out might not be the solution Link to comment
Kijho
Just pull sand out if you want - but it doesn't look too deep really. You can move it around to even it out, after time it stops. Play with your powerheads to get them right, you'll eventally get them where they aren't causing your sand to move. If you do decide to "scoop" sand out, your water will get dirty for a few hours but will settle pretty quickly - but it can depend on the age. Usually takes a bit longer for sand to settle if it's a fresh brand new tank. Also - look like a zebra hermit to me, I have two somewhere hidden in my tank haha. Link to comment

Cove
Can you reccomend a light that will support coral but is not too expensive? Current Orbit Marine Reef LED about 100 if you're in the states/160 if you're in Canada. Also a Par38 bulb is pretty wicked. Link to comment
