Nerite Snails seem lethargic

I have 2 Nerites that i've had for about 6 months. They have been normal, active snails till about a month ago when i noticed they were not moving at all.

They seem to still grip the glass but much weaker than usual. Neither of them has moved at all for over a month now but i dont think they are dead because they dont smell when i take them out of the tank.

Starting yesterday, one of them wont even come out to grip the glass at all.

Their feet seem to be a dark grey now but used to be white.

I did not photo them because they look absolutely normal except for their total lack of movement. I also used to be able to see a very small white mouth when they are on the glass but not any more.

Anyone have any ideas? I figure if they don't smell bad, they're not dead right?

My Fighting Conch has shown similar signs of degradation, or so I think. I don't change my water as often as I should, and I think my Calcium, Alkalinity, and trace minerals are probably pretty low, as the only source for these nutrients is my Reef Salt through WC's. Do the Nerite shells look "duller?" These minerals are essential for the shell growth and health of inverts.

No, shells look fine but the foot doesnt protrude at all when put next to the glass and what i can see in the shells are grey.

I took them out of the water about an hour ago and i will check now to see if they smell bad. I know it wont hurt them because they have escaped to the carpet many times for hours and hours with no ill effect.

Mine are always like this...they seem to go through dormant periods of very little movement. Do you have a large food source for them? I've noticed that when I'm a little late to clean the tank they're more active grazers.

This happened to me before too, when I put in one too many snails and other species of snails simply outcompeting my nerites for food. Sounds like they're slowly dying of starvation.
