My neighbor is breaking down his 125gal and offering me his pair of dragonets that are trained to eat frozen. Would I be able to keep them in my 30 gallon if I fed them 2x a day? Ive got a 10 gallon sump with a fuge full of cheato for pod breeding.

Its so damn tempting. The female is a beautiful red.

I've got a pair in my 17 gallon that are trained on frozen and I feed twice a day - no sump. I do overfeed though and just make sure to keep up on water changes. Best of luck with your decision!

I've had a red scooter that eats frozen in my 20L for about a week and it looks to be plenty of space for him to roam and hunt. You should be okay in a 30G with two, but remember their heavy feedings will add more load than something like a damsel or whatever. So waterchanges are very important.

Yea, I've seen my neighbor feed the pair and its pretty messy. I might just bump my water changes to smaller more frequent ones.

I've seen a feeding technique where a glass jar is used to keep the food confined, I may experiment with that. They're pretty shy.

Thanks again for the feedback!

I use a glass jar as well. It definitely helps.
