I have a fusion 20 on the way. It will be a slow build but im looking into lighting now. I have 2 par38 full spectrums from rapidled. They have 60° lenses. Im worried they will look like 2 spotlights on the tank.

Any input on that part?

Im interested in hearing other options. I think $200 would be my max. I dont need anything super fancy but would like to have seperate dimming channels.

I have a dual skkylight on mine now. I think it will grow some soft corals and maybe low light LPS. But I decided to buy a rapidled 104w 24LED light off of eBay for 150, it comes in Thursday! Under $200 is kind of hard to do for a nice light. But check out eBay! It also depends on what you want to keep. Also I don't know much about the cost of other types of lighting so I'm no help there.

If possible remove the lenses. Problem solved.

Or hang them from the ceiling.

Dont have that max.

Light is how your animals eat. It should be important. I would be thinking a 2 puck light from Dave. Hes changing the name of his lights, so get the one with 2 of his 13up pucks.

Black gooseneck mount.

People will go, "Dang he has a nice light. He cares about his animals."

Going with farkwar! You can hang the PAR38s and purposely spotlight so you can grow stuff in two specific parts of the aquarium, or you can hang them far away enough that they don't spotlight. And you can grow ricordeas, why not. But if you want to grow anything more lighting intensive, you're going to find that you'll have spend more than $200 later on anyway. If you already have those bulbs, put them on the tank and save up until you don't have a budget for lighting, then get the lighting your tank deserves. :]

Go for it! They won't give you control over every individual color, but I'm sure you can play around with the dimming and get something you like. Going off the PAR readings for the value fixture, which is basically the superlux without timing capabilities, you'll probably be fine for now!

I've never had sps and dont plan to start now. I find myself running out of low light spots for corals in my current tank.

I figure the superlux has good leds with the correct spectrums and is dimmable. About all I need...

I'm interested in seeing that light. The only thing I came up with on ebay were par bulbs.

I'm leaning towards the maxspect razor nano right now. It's a slick little light.
