jimmy_c
Pretty new to the coral side of saltwater.. Got this rock yesterday with the cool shrooms. However one big one is on top and the others are on the bottom. Will the ones on the bottom move to the top or even off to another rock?? If you look real close you will see two kinda folded under just below the Zoa's polyp. Link to comment
JavaJacketOC
Yes they can move and if they don't like the area they're in they probably will. If you notice they detaching you need to watch them and maybe move them into a smaller container or another area in the tank. My experience has been that they just release in hopes of finding a low flow area but often times they get sucked into the overflow or the grates of any water movement pumps Edit: You may want to try and repositioning the rock to get the some light, they may just balloon up to try and catch the light but similar to above, if they're in an area where they can't get any light they're going to move. Dr.Brain Coral
They can crawl like an anemone and also float as Java said Link to comment
jimmy_c
Thank Java.. yeah no matter how is set the rock up something is on the bottom. so hopefully these guys will find a new spot, but will be watching if htey decide to cut lose. Follow up question... Can these be fragged? I assume they grow new polys building a cluster, but not really sure with these.. Link to comment
Dr.Brain Coral
Yup you could blend these suckers and they would still live. Not really but yes you can cut them like pizza slices and each will grow back Link to comment

Kellysnano
I only thing I have learned to be true 100% of the time in my tank is that mushrooms always move! Link to comment
MrSexyShrimp
You can try to trick them into attaching to some rubble rock. Cover a pile of rubble rock with something like one of those green plastic strawberry baskets with a weight on top. Water and light can penetrate the basket, but the mushroom won't be able to float away. Link to comment
joy13
That looks like the kind of mushroom that moves and leaves babies that will grow up and move and the cycle has started. Link to comment
