So im planning my IM Nuvo 40 build and this will be my first venture into a reef tank. Plan on keeping some SPS, probably and clam and anemone eventually as well. I've narrowed my light selection down to 3 lights. My first choice right now is the Ecotech XR15w. Is this enough for the tank? Tank is 24*16*19'' I have also considered the XR30 as well as the Kessil a360. Any advice is appreciated!

Look into NanoBox. Really nice and awesome looking. Also everything you need full spectrum, and controllable.

I've checked them out before but just wasn't that impressed with them all that much

Anybody?! I really would appreciate any advice on this. I'm torn between the Kessil and the 2 Radions. While im fairly certain that the A360 will be adequate for the tank in unsure what Radion to choose. But im not that sure of anything as a noob

All those lights are solid, I think the xr15w is going to be pushing it on a 24" cube, on marinedepot's site it says that the max spread 9" off the water is 24", so you might be better off with the 30. And the kessil is good in it's own regard as well. But don't underestimate The nano box lights you get a lot for your $$ plus a controller.

Yeah i was thinking the xr15 might be pushing it.. I looked at the nanobox lights but i dont really care for them that much as far as fit and finish plus im putting an apex on the tank as well. Sounds stupid but money isnt really a concern as i'm budgeting around $3000 for this whole build top to bottom. Not sure what im getting myself into lol

The Kessil A360WE can be controlled through the APEX and will be getting its own controller soon. The fact you can control the color and intensity separately is nice. It's much easier to dial in then the Radion and a little less expensive. You can get a separate cable to link a couple together to match color and intensity or program each differently. Honestly you cannot go wrong either way and both the kessil and radion look and work fantastic.

Speaking of the Kessil, Would this tank require 2 of them? Because at that point the Radion is a more economical solution as opposed to 2 A360's...

No. One of the Kessil 360WE will be good enough for your tank. It can cover up to a 24 inch cube and sometimes something slightly larger if it is shorter.

Have you looked into the ATI T5/LED unit. Has the best of both worlds. Shimmer and pop of led with the fuller light spread of the t5 to smooth out the harsh shadowing that can be cause by led. Just food for thought.

I have indeed considered that unit, but like the clean looks of all LED as well as the energy savings as the wife complains enough about the electric bill already. Plus, have to keep the backup generator happy when the power goes out
