TheTikiGecko
Just checked my water parameters for my Biocube 14 and everything looked good except for my pH and ammonia..my pH was at 7.8 and my ammonia was at .50-.75 ppm. How can i raise my pH and lower my ammonia levels?? Link to comment
Mariaface
Don't worry about pH too much; solve the rest and pH will follow. Immediately, water changes and some sort of ammonia-binding product like Prime. Then figure out what's causing ammonia to spike. Something dead? Overfeeding? Solve that issue, do a water change to dilute the ammonia, and keep up with water changes while testing. Do you not have nitrites? If your tank is cycled, ammonia should be turning into nitrites, which should be turning into nitrates. And when you go to test, nothing but nitrates should be registering above 0. Link to comment

Well my nitrites and nitrates were both at 0 ppm Link to comment
Mariaface
No nitrates to speak of? How long has the tank been established? Link to comment
TheTikiGecko
Well i bought it off craigslist and it was said to be established for months Link to comment
Mariaface
Okay, but you read up on the water cycle and how that works, right? Because if you've got ammonia registering, something's decomposing faster than bacteria can keep up with it. How long have you had the tank, after buying it? It's possible that the move disturbed the live rock, the sand (tons of stuff decomposing down there), etc. What does your filtration look like? And what's the livestock? You haven't lost any animals recently, right? Link to comment
