seabass
This is a better (used) camera for $149: https://www.keh.com/283693/canon-powershot-s95-digital-camera-10-m-pBut if you're willing to spend more, you can buy a new Nikon D3100 body for $278.65: http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-D3100-Digital-Camera-Body/dp/B005PREXF6/ref=sr_1_2?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1408172655&sr=1-2&keywords=Nikon+d3100($401.09 with a kit lens). But a good macro lens for it will cost about $499: http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-AF-90mm-2-8-Di/dp/B00021EE4U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408174188&sr=8-2Obviously we are talking acceptable vs best. So we need to know a budget, and if you will be using it for anything else (also, if used is alright). Link to comment

seabass
Look for manual controls and custom white balance. For an inexpensive new camera, you might get something like this ($149): http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-SX170-Black-DISCONTINUED/dp/B00EFILR6E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-2&keywords=Canon+sx160 Here's another nice used camera for $109: https://www.keh.com/351013/canon-powershot-s90-digital-camera-10-m-p Note, both the S90 and S95 have larger image sensors than most point and shoots. Han Solo
thanks for the link to the iphone lens case! that's awesome and I'll probably buy it.... when I has money Here's another cool looking camera lens for the iphone I found http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DXH5TPS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3TTBGOFB1HUFR&coliid=I3TWCOS7GG8FFBI wish I could find a good iOS app that had white balance options. It's hard to take a good pic without a ton of editing of my tank because of the PAR38 bulb I have... Link to comment

seabass
the camera i want needs to be waterproof. i want to put it in my tank Then I like the Canon. It has a custom white balance to adjust for your lighting. And a macro range of 0.4 in. - 1.6 ft. Link to comment
glennr1978
the camera i want needs to be waterproof. i want to put it in my tank What kind of lights are you using? I used a Pentax optio wg-2 (maybe it's a wg-3, I don't remember. Basically the same thing either way). It's a waterproof point and shoot that took exceptional macro pics, but it was horrible shooting under LED's. I had to upgrade to a dslr and macro lens. Link to comment
