One of these USPS carriers is not like the others

USPS story from a customer of ours. Package showed delivered Aug 7th but the customer couldn't find it. Here is why:

Hi. I went to the post office and they are giving me the run around. I really need this pump so I ordered another one from you but having it sent to my family business. That way it gets into our hands. My wife said on the day of delivery there was a knock on the door but she was changing the diaper of my boy and when she looked out the mail truck was leaving but no package or slip was left. Something is fishy here. But I would appreciate it you can send my new pump priority like you did ASAP if possible. I noticed it's insured so I'm not sure if you do the claim or I do for my money back. I have to go back tomorrow to talk to a superior at my post office. Will let you know the outcome. But if you can ship it ASAP I would appreciate it. My phosban reactor needs it to control my phosphates in my tank. Thank you.

You are not going to believe this. I told them what happened and the supervisor spoke with the carrier. The carrier said if no one answers the door she will not leave the package at the door or bush. She throws it over the fence. Over the fence!! She threw it on the side of my dog kennel.
My dogs half buried the box!
So I found the first package. I never heard of mail people throwing parcels over the fence. I mean she didn't leave a note saying she threw it over the fence! Unbelievable! So now my question is can I get a refund on the second pump? I'll just return it when it arrives. Unless it hasn't been picked up yet just cancel it. I still can't believe it. Anyways thank you for all your help.

Oh my gawd! Why? Lol

I once had a big shipment coming to my old apartment. I went nuts looking for it since the tracking said it was delivered and no note of where it was. I even went to the apartments office and no package. After I called usps they spoke to the mailman that delivered it. Turns out he hid the package in my balcony inside an old bigger box. He said it was because he saw suspicious people by the apartment, and he couldn't fit a note underneath my door.

I was kinda glad he did that, it would've been worse if someone stole it. :)

The hardest thing for us is we can't really help the guy find it. They have to contact their local post office as us calling the national number is a joke and they don't publish local numbers.

Haha, yeah that fedex guy with the tv was the first thing I thought of when I saw this, there were several vids like that going around a few Christmases ago.

I've had fedex deliver my packages to random neighboring apartments several times. At this point if tracking says it's delivered and it's not at my door I take a walk. I feel really weird taking my packages from other peoples doorsteps but no one has questioned me yet. :)

Also, usps routinely leaves packages at my door without knocking or ringing the doorbell, I'll go out Sunday or Monday and discover a package that must have been delivered Saturday while I was home all day!

Only once has usps lost one of my packages, I called and called and then it just appeared a week later with no explanation. Luckily it wasn't anything living or temp sensitive.
