Does a refugium need to be lit if it is only for copepods?

I'm wondering if a refugium with just dry rock in it for copepods needs to be lit?

well typically you put a macro algae in there with the rock to give "refuge" to the copepods to breed and live in. So yeah, if your plan is to produce pods, then you need an algae and light.

It's cool seeing all the happenings inside a fuge, I ll get down on the ground and stare into my fuge. My 5 year old daughter thinks I'm weird, but I think a lit refuge is cool.
