Reef Breeders
Hi everyone, we are excited to announce the release of the SuperLux, which is our latest light and adds some more features and form factor to the value series. The SuperLux is only 1.75" thick, and is 3" wider than the value fixture, so it can be mounted lower to the water and looks nicer than the value series, for only $20 more.

Each SuperLux has a built in timer, and only 1 plug, so you can dim and set the on and off times for each channel using an lcd screen built into the light.

Unlike the competition, we offer a full 2 year warranty, and our proprietary full spectrum layout which has been developed through years of research and customer feedback.

We will release a version of this light with mounting legs next month, so if you have a 24" tank and have a canopy/you don't want to hang the light, we will have a solution for you!

The SuperLux is only $199.99 with free shipping, they are in stock and ready to ship out via FedEx ground.

You can order your light here: http://reefbreeders.com/shop/superlux/'>SuperLux - Reef Breeders LEDs

The timer, is it a simple on off timer, or is it possible to set different intensities at different time periods. Id like a fixture like this that is able to run different channels at different intensities throughout the day. Don't get me wrong the fixture looks great, and I am probably buying it from you guys. Just curious if this superlux works this way.

You can dim and set the on and off times for each channel using an lcd screen built into the light. You can't change it every hour or half hour. So basically, it is like the value fixture, but instead of needing external timers, the timers are built into the light.

What are the optics on this? Would two work over a 120 gallon, 48x24x24? I had seen some reports about the Ocean Revive fixture having spotlighting issues with the red and green. Have you guys found a way around that?

The fix is not to use optics.

Not always the best option depending on the tank. I was considering a couple over my 120. While leaving off the optics would certainly make them go deep enough, I'd likely have to run 3 in order to get the area coverage.

Actually, optics are rarely a necessity, even on taller tanks. Corals much prefer less overall intense, but distributed light, versus having half the coral be lit by 500 PAR and the other half by 100.

Interesting. I thought that I'd end up with a load of wasted light unless I ran 120 or so optics on my 24 inch tall tank.

120 degree is essentially no lenses at all. The primary lens on that package is ~120-130 degrees.

What size area does the SuperLux cover?

For sps, a 24" cube, and up to 36" by 30" for a mixed reef with softies on the ends

They come as a default with 90s, we put 120s on the reds. We solved that issue by not using greens, they don't serve much purpose and the neutral whites already contain plenty of green, and we also placed the reds near both white and blue LEDs, so they blend in well. We say no issues with spotlighting as low as 3" from the water, however we recommend hanging at about 4-6".

They should be at our warehouse in a few weeks in quantity, we will have them professionally photographed. The legs look like aluminum tubing bent 90 degrees with a plastic stand for the tank rim. They are very thin and clean looking.

No, we never intended them to be released without legs, but the legs took an extra month to develop, so we added them later when we could.

You can use the light without the legs, it still includes the same hanging hardware. I would recommend keeping the legs if you either switch tanks, or sell the light.

And, we are running a $20 off sale until Friday, so you can get the light for $209.99 using the coupon code "super20"
