Chester's 6 Gallon Nano EDGE

So, I'm fairly new to the hobby of saltwater but I've been doing FW for a while.

A little back story on how I got a free Fluval EDGE tank. When my grandpa was cleaning out his basement, he found his old 6 gallon Fluval EDGE. I asked him if he needed it and he was more than happy to give it away (on a count of his basement was a mess and my grandma told him to clean it it lol). So this gave me the opportunity to try out reefing and I didn't have to spend a dime for a new tank.

ANYWAY, my tank has been running for a little over a month now. I finally got my water params a good level and so I added some of my CUC, corals and fish.

Equipment:

AquaClear HOB Filter

Hydor 25W Heater

Hydor Koralia 435gph Pump

2 Corlife 50/50 Bulbs (using DIY fixture)

Livestock:

1 Ocellaris Clownfish

1 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp

1 Mexican Turbo Snail

Mixture of Hermit Crabs

Coral:

Mushroom

Green Zoanthid

Neon Green Trumpet Coral

Pink Hammer Coral (or at least that's what the LFS sold it to me as)

This is what it looks like so far:

This is my DIY fixture atm. The old halogen fixture was not working any more. It seems to be doing well and my corals are pretty happy. I am however in the process of getting new LED lighting for this tank.

I actually picked up the Zoa out for the assorted coral tank at my LFS. It wasn't looking too great when I bought it, but now the polyps are starting to open up and I think it's doing okay now.

Let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggestion on how I can make my tank a lot nicer. I will be updating on how it looks eventually when I decide to add more stuff to it.

Looks good! It will be great when you get new lighting. Your corals seem to be happy considering, but your tank will look completely different with the LEDs.

Wow thanks. Yeah, I'm hoping to get it the LEDs this week, well it's "supposed" to come in the mail this week. I'm pretty excited

So an update on what I have added to my tank. I purchased an LED fixture from the guys at BuildMyLED. Oh man it made such a difference. Corals have grown a lot since my last update.

I added a pulsing Xenia, a small leather coral frag and some more Zoas
