looking for a bit of advice

Hello,

I had a couple of concerns with my tank and was hoping to get some input. I have a 40g breeder with a 10g sump with a bubble magus 3.5, I also run NP bioplastics. In my display I have a koralia 550 and a koralia nano that run alternate of each other. For lighting I have an ecoxotic panorama pro 24" with 3 12k white/445nm blue strips and 2 445nm blue strips. The lights max out at 55% (W) and 100% (Blue). Visually everything seems to be doing good with the exception of my GSP, it just does not appear to be very happy. My tank has been up and running for over a year (this time around). I recently moved to japan so I had tear everything down and start all over. Since my startup I have had some very good growth with my bubble and elegance coral however, recently I noticed that while most of my corals were doing okay they haven't been thriving. I I just recently started testing PO4, MG, KH and CA. The results seem a bit off with the MG and CA and I was hoping to get some input on what I might be able to do to help this. I have re-tested multiple times to ensure that there wasn't an error from me, I have also tested using a separate kit. I do weekly WC rotating between 10% and 20% every other week. I appreciate all of your help and advice. Thank you

Jason

I use Red Sea coral pro. The only thing I can come up with is maybe I got a bad batch? But is that common or possible for everything else to be okay besides the mg and ca? Thanks

At 33.0 ppt, they expect it to mix to:

  • pH between 8.2 – 8.4
  • alkalinity between 11.8 – 12.2 dkH
  • calcium between 430 - 450 mg/l (ppm)
  • magnesium between 1280 - 1340 mg/l (ppm)

Try mixing the dry contents before you make another batch (and test that).
