cindyp
Could be colonial hydroids. Get rid off them. They can spread rather quickly. Looks like hydroids to me too. I would scrape them off with a scalpel/razor blade..should be easy to remove them . thanks, friends. they are super gross. and i tend to be a bit squemish about things, but Playing Goddes to the tank, I RULE ALL and handle bristle worms and stab giant amphiods and all sorts of shit. cindyp
hello, friends! been busy catching up on life and all my to do tasks after turning in my sequel draft. and now, i've leapt into an unsold sci fi that needs an overhaul before i hope to try and send it on submission to editors (to hopefully sell in a great deal for more corals! ha!). author events and travel begin in a few weeks time, too. it's going to be a busy rest of the year. my novel comes out in september. here's a mini update of the tank. here's a view of the tank today. i had scraped off whatever was on the dendro twice! not sure if i didn't do a good job the first time or that it grew back. anyway, i think it was damaging the dendro, if you see that dark spot? i think it was creeping up and encroaching on it. blasted parasites! pink zebra nem is settled in, but still not grabbing food with its skirt and folding closed to eat as i'm used to from all my other flower nems. otherwise, seems to be doing okay. it does throw it's stomach out, so i'm hoping it's catching food that way. in foreground, blurry pic of my new ironman mushroom. it is a really beautiful gold color. as you can sort of see here, but still doesn't do it justice. my super saiyans are also glowing nicely. i thought those things were gonna die, and i'll admit, i don't do much for them. and would often stick them somewhere out of view. ha! no second flower nem. trying to decide on some things. rumor has it that ASD might be getting another big shipment in of RFA too. will keep posted. antsypants
Just caught up on your thread Looks like you've got things under control! Bummer about the hydroids though, annoying little guys. Make sure that when you're removing them to do it outside of your tank as they can potentially get caught by the current and start a new colony somewhere else... Resilient punks You're definitely tempting me with all your rock nems just BTW :S Link to comment

Sounds like a pretty nice garden to me The fluorescence on your mushies is amazing. I'm a bit too scared that they'll run rampant in my tank and I'll never get them out. Oooh, breaking into new genres! You brave soul writing is going ok. Got some feedback from a market along with their kind rejection that they thought the pacing was too slow, which I kind of suspected so I'm giving that a look-see this weekend before sending it back out. And finally breaking new ground on a short story while also still doing outline work for the novel. Getting into the last stretch of law school too, plus my brother is graduating from undergrad this spring so there's lots of family stuff going on! Does your fam have any plans for spring break? Getting into the last stretch of law school too, plus my brother is graduating from undergrad this spring so there's lots of family stuff going on! Does your fam have any plans for spring break? (Mine just ended ) you sound even busier than me, maybe! ha! my pea is graduating from 6th grade and there is A LOT of activities coming up. good luck on the short story and outlining for the novel--it sounds like good progress considering you are a full time law student. i'm amazed!! and yeah. the non fantasy novel (it started out as cyberpunk but i really don't think it is--i think it's maybe near future thriller) began as a short story--my first published one in an anthology. i really enjoyed writing it and it wasn't scary because it was a short story. so it didn't matter that it wasn't fantasy, which is my comfort genre. well, my book coming out in september was on submission for over TWO YEARS and i kept getting from editors: cindy is a great witer, can we get something from her that ISN'T asian fantasy? *grumbles* so that's why i wrote this novel. i do love it a lot, but it also needs work, and it challenged me in ways that fantasy didn't because the prose and the language and the themes were all different than what i'm used to. also technology, etc etc. but i'm having fun. i think it's important to stretch and challenge yourself as a writer with each new project. owenj
I'm not really full-time any more, though three classes in law school doesn't feel very "part-time." I'd be busier if I wasn't being lazy and procrastinating Pfff, nothing wrong with Asian fantasy though...without context that sounds a bit wrong . Glad you're having fun writing the SF novel. I have a sort of closet desire to try my hand at steampunk one of these days. Link to comment
cindyp
hello friends! we are in spring break here so i've been busy with the bubs at home. but i did make it into ASD today and they have A LOT of gorgeous RFA. i had had my eye on this peach zebra striped from a few weeks back. it still wasn't sold! so now it's mine! that makes FIVE flower nems in my little 8g, friends. she's big, at least 2 inches across. and glowed nicely under ASD lighting. will be interesting to see how she looks under the moon lights. otherwise, the tank is doing well. both worms seem to be doing all right. i'm getting overrun with sponges (the kind that look like fingers). cleaned some of that off today. i love getting dirty with the tank. I've had a major creative block since the end of January and haven't painted much. I need to get back to it. Link to comment
