cindyp
Your build is looking great. Sorry to hear about the LFS trouble. I hope everything that is still alive recovers. thanks, clairerenee! with the bleaching, i read somewhere online it could take corals 8 months to recover. here are fotos of the tank. it has four of my ailing corals and some new additions. i could do without the rock in the left corner, but that's where the pump blows sand around until it's bare. don't really like that. sideview of my tank in the kitchen: a better foto of the super saiyan zoas: Link to comment
ClaireRenee
I love the zoas from LC... I have been drooling over everything on their website for a long time. Keep me posted on how they do. Link to comment

charnelhouse
Nice tank cindyp! Following for SD unity Which store was it that you had problems with, if you don't mind me asking (maybe PM if you don't want to name & shame). I just want to know who to avoid. Link to comment
cindyp
so i bought my frist two rock flower anemones today. i went in person and they were supposed to be discounted but the bright one was like expensive, i hope i wasn't bamboozled. ha! i should have tried to bargain at least, but i'm just not so great at it. you'd think my charm and beauty alone would have helped. *blows raspberries* fotos soon! cindyp
here is one of the anemones. he's about 2 inches across with a deep purple color, some green, and pink "fingers". sorry i don't know correct term. here is my fancy expensive anemone. she's super bright with orange fingers on the outside and green on the instead. smaller than the one above, maybe 1.5 inches across? i did a water change and had turned off the pump, then turned it on again and watched both anemones completely close into a balloon then open up bigger than before. SO COOL! love these guys. i bought some frozen mysis shrimps for them. i hope they do okay in my humble 8g. the sexy shrimps have found the deep blue/purple one and love him. they haven't visited the bright orange one yet. so excited to get my first rock flower anemones! They're beautiful ones. hi! i have a noob RFA question. my orange one opens full like second foto in no light. (i got that foto after turning light off then popped back on just to take foto.) this morn, it was open until i turned on tank light. it is on a rock at bottom in full light. should i just let it be or should i try and move it to a shadier part? thank you! FlowerMama
let it be, it's probably just getting used to the time the light gets on and most lights are kind of jarring when they just come on, if it doesn't like the light, it'll move to a shadier location. Link to comment
wildbill79
Let's go. I think they are looking great! Both are bright and very healthy looking. Nice setup! Link to comment

Let's go. I think they are looking great! Both are bright and very healthy looking. Nice setup! thank you!! working toward a fishie or two i hope. still a noob and excited but also a little nervous. ha! Cindy, Congrats on the new RFAs! They look beautiful. David thanks for the tips! do you have a foto of your rock nem? i'm super happy with them, though had sticker price shock. ha! i saw another like my orange one on ebay for $150. i didn't pay that much, thank god, but she was still expensive! Pancetta
Cindy, I will try to take some good photos of my nems. Only have iphone shots. Sorting out my wife's camera is on today's to do list. My RFAs also like table shrimp. Bought a big bag of frozen shrimp at Costco. I thaw one at a time and chop it up very fine; like minced garlic. EBay huh?? Have not looked for nems there before?! This could be dangerous. David Link to comment

Do you plan to get any inverts to host your nems? i've got two sexy shrimps actually. and they are hanging out with the purple flower nem quite a lot. =( unfortunately, i think the shrimps might have nibbled on my expensive super saiyan zoa. i've not had a problem with them before. so i'm not sure. Dryland
My experience with sexy shrimp is that while they do hang out on/near corals, they don't do any harm. In fact I noticed that the areas in my tank that they inhabited the most tended to be clean and free of nuisance algae. If you are bothered by how much they are picking at your corals you could try feeding them. Mine loved to eat the sinking crustacean pellets from Hikari. Link to comment
