I noticed the little goby right away too!!

There were a couple at the lfs yesterday, but I came home with my fancy mandarin instead!

Such beautiful and colorful pics!

The misspelling probably didn't help... does sound a little dirty now that I think about it.

i didn't notice misspelling. was able to find

definition asap. new word learned!

I love the goby photobomb

hello friends! did another major weekly

cleaning today. as i said, i'm feeding phyto feast

to my naked worm (still squirming and taking up

prime real estate in the front right corner) which

is causing more algae on the glass for me.

i finally threw away my acan and favia. i had

been nursing them for months and they simply weren't

bouncing back.

checked back chamber for gbg, nothing. boo.

otherwise, did another major killing of vermetid (sp) worms

(they form the hard squiggly tube and shoot mucous into

the tank to catch food) with my nose pliers, very effective.

some corals still a little upset over the cleaning, but everything

else seems to be doing well.

Your gonna need a bigger tank! Then you could just sign your paychecks over to Will @ ASD.

film rights too. ha!

Love the new FTS. I have algae on the glass growing like mad since I started dosing phyto everyday <_<. And vermetid snails too :furious:. I didn't even notice them until I saw your discussion with Teeny about them. Now I notice them in my tank too! Gah. I may need to go invest in some needle nose pliers just for the fish tank.

it is very satisfying to twist the buggers

off, i must admit!! :D the closest to actual

violence i'll indulge in in my sheltered life.

you have to get the root though, where the worm

lives, so i usually chip away a bit of the rock too.

there are still more on my live rock.

i've also got the wispy white/clear strings

overruning my tank. they are some type of jellyfish,

i think? or a relative of. it's from overfeeding too, likely.

but jaime, now that clammy is RIP, why are you

still dosing phyto?

I've got vermetid snails (not that many), the little white wispy/stringy worm things throughout my sandbed (plague proportions), and now an explosion of yellow sponges
in my tank. The sponges are pretty cool :). What's next? :scarry:

so i noticed this morn that the pink lobo

has been receding. i'm bummed! i thought

it was doing well. but i had only been feeding

it oyster feast so far, and i don't know if that is meaty

enough for it. (only because i see it extended at night,

and am too lazy to defrost my coral frenzy.) but

this morn, i saw some feelers out when i did phyto

feast, so i fed it coral frenzy (frozen seafood) for

the first time. it loved it! here's a foto.

i would rather not dose with weekly water changes, but might

if i have to to keep some brain corals. we'll see how it does with

more meaty foods from now on.

i had a sponge issue too, on a single mushroom frag,

but i think i've killed it off. it was white and spongy?

I went after all I could see with my bone cutters :D. There are still some on the backs of the rocks but I can't really get to them without fully removing the rock.

Dosing the phyto mostly because I have so much leftover . I think it's good for the micro-fauna in the tanks too, and I have a lot of pods at the moment. I can see them running about on the rocks and glass. Tug is going to have a field day when he goes back in.

I ran into the same problem with my scolys (and to a certain extent, the dendros), so I got some dry LPS pellets for spot feeding after lights out if they were closed up during the daytime feed. I've got Fauna Marin and the Coral Frenzy ones. I can send you some if you want to try them.

Having some sponge problems in the 10g too <_<. Hopefully that's taken care of for the most part after the boiling water treatment. I've also had these weird, white, soft, filter feeder looking things pop up all over both tanks. No clue what they are.

NEVERMIND! it's a clear flatworm, and it's

more beneficial than the usual flatworm. yay!

i found a great foto of it on this site, which is

a good reference for hitch hikers:

http://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhiker/hitchhiker.shtml

hey everyone!

can i get an ID for this?

i had seen it smaller and on the glass

before, and today, it was by my asterina star

(which hasn't bothered anything) moving around

really fast and maybe grown twice as big. still

tiny though.

i had assumed that it was a clear/invisible stomatella

snail. but the way it moves, those wisps (which i thought

were antennas) are at the BACK of this thing. it really looks

like a clear two legged squid, tbh.

and yes, it's see through. any ideas?

i think it's a slug or snail?

Keeper for biodiversity. One of flatworms you won't mind crawling about.

A while back, I carelessly introduced flatworms (waminoa=bad) on colony that didn't get coral dip treatment.

No big deal if you watch them closely and take some action to eradicate potential plague that could become a headache.

NOTE TO SELF:

the big duster in the zoa rock had its

tube basically closed in the two weeks since

it cast off its crown. today, i noticed that

that tube is now open.

have NO idea what this means.

did the worm inside die?

is it trying to get nutrients?

OMGOSH FRIENDS!

i saw NEW feathers peeping out

of the big feather duster. two weeks,

and it's made a new crown for itself.

only a few millimeters peeped out, mind.

not extended.

what do i do? what do i do? should

i move it to a more quiet corner? or leave it be?

the current spot is right below the wave pump,

and i feared it might not have liked the flow.

WWYD? would you just leave it be until it comes

out and see what happens? or move it to a more quiet

corner. eeep!!

Tank is looking great! Still enjoying the light?

-Dave

yes, i am, dave!

i especially love the dusk times. :)
