CurtBoswell Posted July 31, 2014 Share Posted July 31, 2014 Hey everyone! I have a 10 gallon aquarium. One of the employees said I could keep a pair of snowflake onyx clownfish in my aquarium. They've had them for quite a while so they said they might go lower than $55 per fish. I really like these but I won't get them if they will get to big. I feel like I'm going to be dissapointed after I ask this but it'll be what it is. Haha. Can I keep them in that tank? Thanks in advance! Link to comment

CurtBoswell Posted August 1, 2014 Author Share Posted August 1, 2014 My tank isn't started cycling yet. Haha. I'm just planning it. I'm going to start cycling in about a week. I'm going to get an aquaticlife internal mini skimmer 115. To put in my sump. I was thinking maybe a fire fish. Link to comment

Is under 55 per fish a good price for them? My lpskeep their fish with a small amount of copper in the water. How would I prevent this from getting in my tank? Link to comment
Havok_9 Posted August 1, 2014 Share Posted August 1, 2014 I'd say thats a decent price, I've seen LFS sell standard o. clowns for as much as $30-35. You can keep the copper out of your tank by the way you acclimate. Use a drip method with the fish in another container, slowly adding your own water to the container. After 30 mins, take out half of the water in the clown pairs container and replace with equal parts of water from your aquarium (obviously you'll want some freshly mixed water on stand by to replenish your tank). Wait 15 or so minutes, catch them in a net and add them to your tank. Voila! At least thats how I do it when I buy fish from a store that I know treats with copper. Link to comment

If you still plan on adding another fish after them, then you should quarantine that fish for a few weeks. It would suck for a $12 firefish to wipe out $100+ worth of livestock because it brought in brook or something. Link to comment
