smiz
Hey Nano-Reef, Looking for some ideas on a product that can manage what I am trying to accomplish relatively cheap. I'd like to have a light mounted in the inside of my stand, that turns on/off when my stand door opens and closes. Any thoughts on what to use? and looking to spend under $30 if possible. Thanks! afyounie
I'd just go to Digikey and get a small limit switch and mount it on your door. They can be wired to either normally open or normally closed. Just cut the power cable from whatever lamp you want to use and wire it to the switch and you have your sensor operated light. Link to comment
evilc66
Those limit switches are also available from Radioshack. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049719&znt_campaign=Category_CMS&znt_source=CAT&znt_medium=RSCOM&znt_content=CT2032230 Link to comment
khuzdul
How bright do you want it? If you search amazon for "led drawer and cabinet", you will see a few inexpensive options. The Amerelle LEDs are very inexpensive, but not that bright. Home Depot carries them also I think. I have Mr. Beams motion sensing LEDs, which can get pretty bright, but if you have a sump / refugium in your cabinet they might not turn off for you. Link to comment
