Biocube and inTank Media Basket

Hi,

I have a Biocube 29. I bought an inTank Media Basket, but it is very difficult to remove or place. Much of the plastic from the fish saver and the rim of the tank is blocking it. Did any of you guys use a dremel or hacksaw or whatever to fix this problem?

Thanks a lot!

Mine just dropped right in with very little effort. I did have to wiggle it around a little as it would catch on something going in. I have the Coralife version of the tank that doesn't need the fish saver though.

I used a dremel to shave away part of the rim along the back when I had my biocube. The clamp on my light fixture wouldn't stay on correctly until I did. I didn't have any problem with the inTank baskets though.

Thank you everyone.

These were exactly what I was looking for.

By the way, how did you collect the fine plastic powder that would result from dremel(ing)? Do I need to empty the tank of everything first?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can confirm. I have one of the later Oceanic versions with inbuilt fishsavers and the inTank media basket slides right in.

I drained some of the rear chamber and covered everything else that I could. It was less of a powder and more of just plastic chunks that came off when I did it. The bits that ended up in the water just floated on the surface so I just scooped them up with a net. My filter floss took care of the rest. Never saw any ill effects.
