Arkayology Posted July 26, 2014 Share Posted July 26, 2014 You can buy a cheap $15 par30 off of ebay. Coral Compulsions's par30 is also a good choice. I use it and like it. If you want to use a cheap household bulb, I believe you want a 5500-6500k bulb for best results. Link to comment
jp75 Posted July 27, 2014 Share Posted July 27, 2014 I am trying out some led strips I found at frys electronics for $30. So far so good for 5 days and appears to have good growth. The strips are very low profile and almost no heat. Package showed color range of 6000k+-500k. Link to comment
The Golden Reef Posted July 28, 2014 Share Posted July 28, 2014 You could get a clamp lamp from walmart and use it. Thats how my cousin has his set up and its been goin fine for 3 years. You just cant put corals in it. And you have to make sure it get air. Those things get hot. Link to comment
