Noticed that the flesh was pulling away from my torch a bit yesterday. About a week before that, I pulled a large flatworm off of it. Got home from work today, and both heads were dead! Brown Jelly covered both heads and they are smoked. I haven't had the best luck with torches. Lost one to barnacles and this one to Brown Jelly Disease. I took a few pics and i will try to post them tomorrow.

They are my wife's favorite, so I think I have to give them one more try.

Torches seem really hit or miss on if they're going to be touchy or not. I lost one to brown jelly fast, and had another hold out for a while before it crashed during the tank move. Crossing my fingers about the two I currently have.

They have been mostly miss with me. This is the first experience with brown jelly disease. Did your look like this?

Yep. Brown jelly sucks & spreads really fast. I had it take out some acans once too when my cat fell in the fish tank & gouged one of the polyps with her claws.

Love your new plate! It's so little!

Zoa Garden still doing good. Growing in. A couple of moves.

My montis are not doing so hot. I have lost the flesh on my Superman Monti. My Rainbow go stung a lot by the Chalice that I used to have next to it. The Jedi Mindtrick seems to be using color. Sunset Monti is losing flesh/bleaching on the top of it. Lights too high/too dim? Any help would be appreciated. Don't really know what's up.

A couple of quick shots tonight:

Dragon's Breath starting to pop up in a few spots. I will post this in a different forum, but, is this ok?

There is more Dragon's Breath and also some other type of macro algae. There is also something growing off of one of my Turbans.

Across the bottom of the tank.

Any help on the macro algae? I've heard that some goes sexual and can take over a tank. Some of it is good though. Which is it for these?

Thanks!

love that micro plate!

Thanks! I like it too! I am keeping my eyes peeled for more.

Here is another strange thing in my tank. What in the hell is growing off of my snail? It has been growing rapidly for the last few weeks.

Here is some sort of sponge type of thing. I really don't know what it is.

With all of the problems that I am having with my Montis, the Setosa looks like it is doing ok? Is there any way that I could have too much light on them? The Sunset and the Superman are having a hard time. Losing flesh on the top only. The Jedi and the Setosa is doing OK. I also have had problems with the Rainbow Monti, but the Chalice was kicking it's ass.

Tiny plate is so cute!!

Thanks! I am on the lookout for more! Want different colors.

I also think I identified the critter in the first picture. I believe it is a Stomatella snail. I have no idea what is growing ff of the other snail. It is the same thing that was growing off of my live rock.

Hey Bill, nice tank! I used to have some of those little snails too. I discovered when I tried to remove one that they will detach their tales as a decoy when harassed. Following.

Thanks! I read that they are actually good hitchhikers, so I am not going to try to remove them.

The algae on the yuma pic looks a bit like byropsis to me--not a good thing. But there's a feathery looking caulerpa out there too that kinda looks the same? I'm not great at macro id's.

If that's the case, I am going to chip as much of the rock away and just leave a little of the for on the foot as soon as I get home tonight. It is just confined to that rock for right now. It looks like fern caulerpa to me, but I am going to play it safe.
