Shallow~Reef
Hi would a tank at 4ft long x 30" wide x 16" high with 6mm of glass and a brace be fine for safety concerns? Does the glass have to be thicker? Thanks Link to comment
1.0reef
I would do 8-10mm just to be safe. Link to comment

Shallow~Reef
The brace doesn't touch the left and right side 30" panel, joint only on to both of the 48" glass panels as you can see. I'm no expert with brace supports if they need to be connected to all sides of the tank. Do I need to extend on this so to add another brace somewhere that will secure both 30" glass panels or is it not necessary? If I should then where would you add the extra brace' for best support? It's going to be some time before it's near to running as I still need to build the cabinet. Link to comment
supernip
it's probably fine with the brace but why did you buy it if you had doubts? Link to comment
Shallow~Reef
Then 6mm should be fine. Thanks for your help 1.0reef it has got me a little less off edge but I have to be sure. Link to comment

It looked like a solid build there and seen it filled with water, so I thought no problems there but when I brought it home I got thinking about how it will handle once I add my jebao wavemaker as it rocks my 40" tank slightly side to side although it's a juwel brand cabinet which are fairly old now. I hope you can see my concern. I will most likely do some tests with the pump before I set this up for reals' which at the same time I can't wait. lol Link to comment
