matt52592
Not sure what is wrong with him. He lost a lot of his color and is swimming crazily all over the place and seems to be gasping for air. Tank conditions are good and all other livestock seem great. Today I added a condy anemone is there any way that it had something to do with it? Really have no idea why he looks so bad and is acting so crazy. Please help thank you Link to comment
Jaden1592
Turn off your lights and lower the salinity to provide more oxygen Link to comment
johnnyriker
Low oxygen levels or too clean water (too much active carbon). Darkness will lower stress and reduce CO2 levels in the tank allowing more oxygen in the water. How much carbon are you running? Maybe even a contaminant. Link to comment
matt52592
He looks a lot better this morning. The only carbon I'm running is a 5oz Chemipure in my 8 gal tank Link to comment
johnnyriker
Well to give you an idea about how much your running I have a frag tank that runs chemipure elite that is a combination of gfo and active carbon inside. The bag is 6.5 oz. The tank is 40 gallons. Was the carbon just changed recently? Say right before you had your issue? Do you change it often? So your running in the ballpark of 5 times what I do. Would this cause an issue. It could potentially if changed too often. I had an accident with active carbon myself so have seen it's ill effects if not used properly. Here is an example: The Fluval C2 HOB filter uses a 3 oz bag and supports tank sizes of 10 to 30 us gallons. johnny Link to comment
