Hey everyone I just bought a new sump to upgrade from my pro flex model 2 sump which his only 17.9 gallons to the Nextreef NRS36 which is 34 gallons so you see it will be a nice upgrade for my 75 gallon reef tank. One problem or it might not be a problem I don't know yet, there is 2 bulk head intakes for the drain line in the sump, my tank is plumbed for one drain line that is flex hose. What do I do with this just use one of the bulk heads from the sump?? I posted a pic of what my system looks like and what the new sump look like.

Sorry for the side ways pic but you get the idea.

Just leave it empty or Y off the drain and have it run into 2 holes/socks. I would personally just leave it empty.

I guess I will only use one of the socks, why do they run 2 anyways my pro flex has 2 I did not understand why. I case you were running 2 returns??

One reason to run two drains from display tank is redundancy. Make one drain at a slightly higher level. In the event that a snail or biomass restricts primary drain the second drain will prevent overflow in display tank.
