AquaVaj
I just love the clean and modern look of a rimless tank. It's pretty much a requirement of mine now if the tank will be visible to me and others. Link to comment
shawnriv
Rimless is the way to go. I've had a few rimmed tanks and never found them as satisfying as a rimless. I currently have a Innovative Marine 38 Nuvo rimless and they're incredibly sleek. Hands down, rimless. Link to comment
1.0reef
Either, both have their pros and cons. While I think rimless tanks are clean, I think rimmed tanks tend to fit in better with furniture. I don't have much of a preference. Link to comment
Steensj2004
Rimless. However, when a t ank has no rim, you are constantly running water down the exterior of the glass, PITA to clean all the time... Link to comment
krisko
I had a rimless tank and you don't mind topping it off with water everyday or getting a ATO then its fine. I like my rimmed tank now as I only have to top it off every 3-5 days. Link to comment
McCune
Rimless is the only way to have a tank unless it's built into a wall. Link to comment
Tamberav
Either, I would put a top on either one anyways. I don't like finding fish dried up on the floor. Personally, the most pleasing to me are aquariums that are in the wall between two rooms. No jumping fish and I feel it looks even cleaner than a rimless with everything 100% hidden and being viewable from front and back is just awesome. Doesn't take up floor space, ect. Someday... you will be mine... oh yes... you will be mine.. Link to comment
LynkUK
A matter of preference IMO. If somebody was to offer me a reef ready 120gal rimmed for the same price as a 60gal rimless cube, I know which one I would take Link to comment
Speaker73
I have a rimless and now and my next tank will be a rimmed one. I prefer the look of the rimless but here in Southern California with the occasional earthquake, it lets out more water than my rimmed tanks. Link to comment
nismo_sky32
I've gone thru phases. When I was being cichlids and had 30+ tanks, rimmed tanks were my only option financially. Now that I got into the saltwater hobby, I love the look of a clean, minimalistic shallow rimless tank. I second what tamberav wants. One day I too will have an in wall tank. Link to comment
1.0reef
Also agreed on the inwall tank. Link to comment
