sean03
So I started this tank somewhere in June/July of 2012. This was my first fish tank I ever had. I barely had any knowledge about marine life in general before starting this hobby and since then I think I've grown tremendously. This tank is still running today but I'm gonna start off by posting some of the oldest pics I could find. This first pic was taken about 2 months after I started. I know 2 clownfish is too much for a tank of this size and I learned this the hard way. I battled cyanobacteria for months before I could get it under control. Link to comment
sean03
This next picture was taken about 2 months later at the end of October of 2012. I added a skunk cleaner, lord acan, frogspawn, duncan, and some zoos. Link to comment
sean03
Im new to this forum and was wondering how to post multiple pics at a time? because it only lets me post 1 MB worth. Anyways...heres a closeup of the frogspawn Link to comment
lecroj
Upload them to photobucket then paste in the link. To get the link, click on a picture you uploaded and then click the info icon. Click the image link and it will copy. Paste it into the text box on nano-reef. The part you need pasted starts with IMG between two brackets and ends with /IMG between two brackets (I cant post the brackets or it thinks I am trying to post an image and it won't let me). you can delete the part before IMG in the brackets and you can also delete the /URL (in brackets) after the last /IMG (in brackets). Try it and it will hopefully make sense Link to comment
sean03
These pictures were taken about a year after I first started the tank. The frogspawn and acan were bleached out and I had some nasty green hair algae. I had been neglecting my tank because I was busy with school and work, but the tank has improved since. http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/CYMERA_20130610_221331_zpsf33186cc.jpg.html'> Link to comment
sean03
So the frogspawn regained its colors and here is a pic taken on christmas of 2013. http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20131225_135407_zps3b9d7238.jpg.html'> This is a full tank shot taken in May of this year after upgrading my lights to the Ultrabrite reef led system I found on amazon. http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140527_130432_zps0ac67cbb.jpg.html'> Link to comment
sean03
A friend gave me his duncans and ricordea after his tank crashed so I am babysitting it until his tank finishes cycling. Super actinic pic http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140626_234020_zpsa3d2bd66.jpg.html'> Link to comment

Cameron6796
Wow I love these tanks I have one freh water rn and want to make one a reef so bad! What are you using for lighting? Link to comment
sean03
Well lately I've only been using a 6 watt 14k Skkye light and some actinic ecoxotic strips because I sent my Ultrabrite led light back to get it fixed. Heres the link: http://www.amazon.com/Watt-Ultrabrite-led-system-fluval/dp/B00AHVLA2O Also, new pic I took today. I fragged the frogspawn the other day because of the new corner frag rack a friend just gave me. Link to comment
Cameron6796
Looks really nice, I love these tanks as reefs, a few more frags and you can just let it all grow out to be amazing Link to comment
TJ_Burton
Good start,I personally find them way more effective with the tops removed and set up as rimless tanks. Link to comment
sean03
Thanks guys. Yeah, I've been trying to get new corals but the lfs around me haven't been getting anything good lately. Hopefully I'll have some new additions this weekend Link to comment
Cameron6796
I understand fully, my lfs is amazing it blows every big als or petco away ... And it doesn't smell bad. Their coral selection is huge. But they have so many periods when they have so much blah stuff oh and they can't keep sps for more then a few days until they start to go brown. But lucky they sell fast for them so it usually doesn't get to that. Anyway I love this and I wish you good luck since I want to see this succeed even longer. Link to comment
sean03
So I just got my lights in a couple days ago and I've made a few changes with rock work and corals. I wish I had a better camera to take pics with but my galaxy s4 is all I've got. New lights in hood and controller http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140724_135949_zpscf786207.jpg.html'> http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140727_123732_zps7a90179e.jpg.html'> http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140727_123706_zpsf57a7b35.jpg.html'> http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140727_123838_zps225e8184.jpg.html'> http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140727_123823_zps01a600db.jpg.html'> http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/sean03/media/20140726_173952_zps79b66096.jpg.html'> Link to comment
Enchelycore808
Looking good. You have pretty much the exact same acan collection in your edge as I do in mine! Link to comment
lecroj
What kind of light controller is that? Will the controller get wet from spray? Link to comment
sean03
Thanks. I think I'm done with my Acan collecting lol. Just gonna wait to grow them out now. The controller came with my Ultrabrite lights and it doesn't have any brand or anything on it. I just put the controller there in the pic to show what it looked like but I'm going to mount it to the wall. Link to comment
