How do you like the fixture?

would one be enough for a 32-24-20in tank?

Just looking into new lights and this is one of great interest!

Thanks!!

I am running 2 a350w over my 40 breeder and I love them. I like them a lot more then my radion gen3 I traded for them. 1 might be pushing it on that size I think.

I run 2 150s on my IM 30 Micro, excellent lighting. I'm considering upgrading to a 360, but don't feel like putting any more lighting into it.

On a tank your size, I'd definitely get a 350W or 360.

I run a A360W over a 24"x25" foot print tank. Tank is 12" deep. MORE than enough light, have it on it's lowest setting it's about maybe 15" above the water.

I love the simplicity of it. If you are not into sunrise and sunset features this is the light for you. although they are developing a controller for the 360W to do this. Closest thing to the metal halide look. Absolutely NO disco effect, the best shimmer I have ever seen of all LED lights. And the shadows are absolutely amazing. When a fish swims over something the shadows are crisp and add another level of realism imo.

The gooseneck looks great too! I would recommend getting their 90degree collar thingy that lets you hang the pendant at 90 degrees instead of bending the gooseneck into a U.

I just started the tank a month or so ago, so don't judge the light based on the growth in my tank :P. Also I don't have a dslr so these were taken with my tablet.

As for your tank, I would recommend 2 of these just for coverage, but if you plan on keeping only LPS on the edges I you could get away with just 1. 1 covers my "cube tank" without a problem.

Anyway great light and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Awesome, thanks for the info gentlemen. I really love how simple and compact they are. When I upgrade my lightning I think this is where I'll go.

I have 1 A350 over my tank. It's 24 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 24 inches tall. I find I love the light and so do my corals. It's really easy to adjust and looks really nice too.

I run 2 over my main tank and I absolutely love them. I have them paired with the bluefish controller right now. I'm very curious about the new kessil controller coming out in August.

I am curious about this, I have my kessil 360WE set up a little over the minimum required to turn it on. How low can the bluefish dim the kessil? The regular "ON" treshhold for the kessil is not very dim for my 12" deep tank and I'm assuming the 0-10V dimming only goes as low as the "on" treshhold.

When you setup the Bluefish controller you setup a number for the minimum dimming level. Usually like 11 percent. It just won't turn on till you get to 12 percent regardless. So as I drag my finger across the bar for the white or blue channel I don't see it turn on till 12 percent. Setting the minimum value makes it very smooth and it works very well. I posted a video on you tube not too long ago showing the controller but I really need to do another. Just remember this is a limitation of your kessil light not the Bluefish controller.

It's essentially the same as using a knob on the Kessil itself. It doesn't change how it works.

Thanks. Figured as much. I guess that's the draw back of the 0-10V only dimming on the kessil vs pwm. Thanks for clearing that up. It's not really big deal breaker for me. Still love the light :D

I've got 2 of the 360w's on my 42x30x19 tank. I control it with my Apex. Love the look and configurability with it. I have mine set about 10" above the tank. Essentially I adjusted the height and length along the tank until no light spilled out over the water.

Don't want to make another thread, so hopefully it's okay to ask here.

Think a single A350W would cover a 20L decently? Even if I can't grow corals on the very ends that's fine honestly, so long as the light looks even. I was thinking it should work.

Yup. I temprarily had it on the a 20L before. you can just move it higher and turn up the brightness. There will of course be light spillage.

How was the growth under it?

I have 1 Kessil a350w over a 40b (36x18x16). It's enough light for coral growth in most of the tank but I have been wanting to add another or DIY an LED to get more coverage and open up real estate for more coral on the edges. Otherwise, love the light.. you won't be sorry getting it.

Sounds perfect, thank you!

Hi there,

I only had the 20L under the light for a little over a month so can't really comment on the growth it was a temporary holding tank until I got my shallow cube up and running. Only thing that grew like mad in that amount of time were the Knopia Polyps, but those things are like a weed anyway.

well I have a 40breeder and got 2 kessil a350 over it. ever since I switched from the radion to these kessil my sps growth has took off like crazy. I got more growth in 1 week with the kessil then I did with 2 months under the radion. same goes with color.

We need more kessil support threads like these lol. The kessil lights don't seem to get much love around most reefing forums.

I'm hoping the kessil panel they demo'ed at a show recently will dim to 0 percent. If so I will be first in line for one. The colors on that panel were just spectacular. I love my A360WE's though.

Another question, is the A350W the only one at or under $300 that would light a 20L? Or would an A150 do it as well?

For the small price difference, I'd probably go with the A350W.

you would need 2 a150. back when I had my old 30 breeder tank it was 30x18 footprint and I only ran 1 a150 ocean blue for a little while till i got another and the tank was kinda dim looking.

I would like to jump on the band wagon also, do you think 1 350/360 would be enough for a 24" 60 gallon cube? I have a Radion now but like the look of the tanks I have seen using a Kessil, the shimmer is very nice.

I have no doubt that it would cover a 24"x 24" cube very easily. Kessil also have a narrow angle lens version for deeper tanks. I think it is only the a360 version that has this option though. called the a360E Narrow (or a360EN) I think. Also there is absolutely zero disco effect. I have heard that the radion has some minor disco. The only difference is the controllability. But I think there are options coming out to make the kessil more controllable. Kessil have a controller coming out for it. Also rod00007 uses the bluefish controller for control. It can also be dimmed with any aquarium controller with 0-10V control.
