bpounds1991
Hey guys, so my tank is starting to grow out a little bit and although it's mainly an LPS tank I do have a few SPS frags. I plan on starting to test for Calc/Alk/Mag in the very near future and was just curious to see are there any supplements you guys dose for strictly the health of the tank? Something extra that doesn't necessarily come along with water changes? Link to comment
seabass
There are scores of supplements, but I recommend that you stick with dosing alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium (as part of a two part dosing program). The goal isn't to elevate these levels, just to maintain them. Testing is critical to determine the consumption rate to develop a dosing routine. Again just try to maintain the levels of a freshly mixed batch of saltwater. If you feel (for any reason) that these levels aren't high enough, I would switch salt mixes to something that you feel is more appropriate. Link to comment
