tibbsy07
Hey, I may need to build a canopy for my 5.5g tank and I was going to put 2 120mm computer fans in the canopy to allow for airflow to reduce heat. Any recommendations on fans, and how to power them? Link to comment
Bingo1213
I too would like more info on this as my current canopy does not have fans and could use them!!!! Link to comment
farkwar
Make a black acrylic box as canopy. Easy to work with, looks good. Get a 12v power supply from Amazon for $10 for the fans. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00452YFZU?cache=9e0bb012f3e940afa960b70adffa609bπ=SY200_QL40&qid=1405101139&sr=8-3#ref=mp_s_a_1_3 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s_ss_sc_0_13?k=12v+power+supply&sprefix=12+volt+power http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000279516?cache=9e0bb012f3e940afa960b70adffa609bπ=SY200_QL40&qid=1405101302&sr=8-3#ref=mp_s_a_1_3 Link to comment
Horerczy
You can also check newegg for fans. They have some nice ones and are sometimes cheaper than Amazon. Link to comment

Acrylic would be nice but it's probably more than wood costs. I'll check the links for parts - thanks Link to comment
farkwar
Woods great. 1/2" oak or mohagony. Yup Acrylic's not expensive($10 square footish), just as easy to work with as wood, same tools almost. Its only a 5g, but wood would be more luxurious, if you put the time in. Tapplastics.com for MO pricing. In store is cheaper. And they give you free scrap to learn on. Edu-vids on that site. Acrylic bends, thats a time saver. Link to comment
