masterbuilder
Thinking about adding a Possum Wrasse. Haven't decided on a yellow banded, white banded or tanakai. I keep a peaceful tank with blennys and small gobies. I also have small goby/shrimp pair. Have any input on care, personality, aggressiveness, etc. Thanks reefers...Mark Link to comment

Didn't see him for the first month or so....other than literally a split second before he would dart away. After that, he is constantly cruising the rocks and swims up to greet me whenever I approach the tank. Super mellow fish...but will hold his own. His best friend is my Kole tang. Highly recommend one! Link to comment
NanoFever
Love my yellow banded possum wrasse! Gets along great with my clown and is in and out of the rockwork constantly. He hid for the first week I added him but is now always cruising! Link to comment
JavaJacketOC
I've already decided that I'm getting a yellow banded when I set up a larger tank. I've seen a few in person at LFS's but they're not usually very colorful but once they're established they seem to have a great personality. Live Aquaria usually has 1 or 2 very good looking pollum wrasses. Looks like they have 2 yellow bandes in the Divers Den today Tanka's in the Divers Den Link to comment
NanoFever
From what I have read I believe it was females that are more colorful. They also change color slightly in color based on their mood. Link to comment

I was under the impression that the males had the better color potential From Live Aquaria "The Banded Possum Wrasse is also known as the Pygmy Possum Wrasse or Arrowhead Wrasse, and it originates from the waters of Indonesia. The Banded Possum Wrasse has an arrowhead like shape and is mostly red/orange in color with yellow vertical stripes when in its juvenile coloration. As the fish matures the fish will darken to a deep rustish coloration. The male and female of this species are very similarly colored, but when courting, the male will display increased color intensity. Colors may vary depending on the fish's mood." Link to comment
VABumpkin
If the possum wrasse isn't colorful enough you could always go with a pink streaked wrasse. Pink and blue, pretty much the same personality as the possum wrasses. Link to comment

Arkayology
It's an amazing fish. I have loved the couple that I have kept in the past. Never aggressive, timid and shy, but it will come out and swim near the rocks after it gets settled. Link to comment
Mike Savage
Wonderful fish and very peaceful. Link to comment
masterbuilder
Ok...I might snag one from Live Aquaria when I make my next coral order......Now...which one...white or yellow banded or the tanakai....decisions decisions. Thanks for the input. Link to comment
CrazyCarl
I had a yellow banded and loved the personality. would swim into my hand when it was in the tank. I have read they all have the same temperament though, so if that is true I would go with Tanaka's. Looks like a more attractive fish IMO though I have never seen one in person. Link to comment
imkelz
I have a tiny pink streaked wrasse and he is easily my favorite fish. Hides alot when you first get him but after a while he (or she) will start to explore. Mine isnt in a nano though he is in my 100g, if I can find another when I get my nano I will most likely add one. Doesnt seem mean at all but he is in a large tank, no idea on how they would act in a tiny tank Link to comment
