Seahorse help/opinions

So I recently upgraded my 29 to a 50 and it was started and cycled from dry rock/sand and it was about 2 months going when I put in my one female seahorse (I've had her for a year) to slowly start moving stuff over. But before that I put in some macros and gorgs (some from my old 29, others new from the store). Then once I put her in the new tank she randomly does these twitches and has even used her tail to grab at herself. I've since read that this typically occurs when there is high ammonia or parasites. I've checked all my levels, everything looks fine and I haven't added anything new except coral to her environment. Now, there are a lot of copepods in my tank so I'm unsure if maybe they were crawling on her and thus making her shake in displeasure? She is eating on/off, I think she is still unsure of the new tank and she doesn't appear to want to go back to the food bowl method like in the 29 gallon (I have to feed her with a baster now).

I'm preparing a methylene/freshwater dip just in case (I did a fw dip for 8 minutes last night) but I'm open to opinions and ideas? I dont know if maybe something hitchhiked on a coral and infected her of is she is just adjusting still.

You could put her back in the 29g with her mate and treat the new tank with some probiotic? And leave it fallow a while longer in case parasites did come in on some coral. She may have been stressed with her mate not being with her. Oops, I may be making a wrong assumption here, you never said her mate wasn't with her. I'm just going by what I read in your thread but that was a week ago.

Yes, she is separated from the male but I have my small tiger tail in the 50 with her for some company. I was worried about putting them all in at once and since the little one doesn't eat much she wouldn't add much bioload. I did a methalyn blue dip on the both last night and my reidi female ate the best she has in the new tank and that was right after one of her little twitching fits.

I'm worried about putting her back in the 29 and possibly infecting my other fish/male. I think I may just start a QT tank but I'm not sure if that will just stress her more.

I see what you mean. I wouldn't want to put the male at risk either. If they both are eating its tempting to leave them alone another day or so in the new 50g.

So the twitching continues today but last night for their dinner I mixed in some garlic guard and selcon. The Reidi female ate very well again for her second feeding yesterday. She continues to be active, along with the tiger tail, even swimming against the direct current of the power head. I'm completely at a loss of what to think is going on in my tank, which is frustrating. I've ordered some medication food additives that together will target bacterial, fungle, and parasitic issues. I'm still thinking that it may be just copepods irritating the horses but we will see.

>>Edit:

The female reidi came over to the glass and hovered there so I was able to look at her very closely. I saw a copepod running around on her side. Right after this I saw her swim swim along the glass- something she does all the time, even in the 29. Maybe because of all the pods on the glass right now in the new 50, when she does this, thats how she picks them up (or one of the ways).

Anyone else have experience with this maybe?
