api nitrate?

Checking parameters today and freaked when I saw my nitrate. Double checked. I've never had such high levels before and I do weekly wc. Got my kit for my fresh water kit and got a lot lower reading. Still going to do a quick wc, but my kit is dated as 2018. How often does an api kit go so bad early?

Test kits can eventually go bad, but it often has more to do with how well the reagents get shaken up before use. Obviously this could affect individual tests; but after a few times, the reagent is not the same strength as it originally was (giving you inaccurate results even when shaking the bottles properly). Of course, this is just a possibility based on what's happened to some other people.
