Limpets - Stupid or Suicidal?

I ordered a CUC from reefcleaners recently and bought some limpets for the mix. They looked neat and it's always fun to have some more diversity in the tanks. I added two to my 80 gal and two to the 16 gal Nuvo.

Not sure where the limpets in the 80 gal are, but the two in the 16 gal seemed completely suicidal. Both ended up on their backs multiple times, though I intervened quickly enough to right them. Ultimately, both kicked the bucket. One decided to climb up above the water line...and stayed there until it dried out. The other kept puffing itself up like a shelled mushroom, then decided to get stuck in the overflow grate. I pulled him out and placed him on the bottom of the tank...where he too died.

Anyone have any luck with these creatures?

Not much...

I also find the empty shells pretty often. Not sure what's predating them (or the chiton) but both seem susceptible to attack, and the limpets definitely seem pretty dumb. I don't know how many I've found that somehow fell to the sand and landed upside down.
