20,000geeksUNDERtheSEA
I recently got a pretty sweet jbj 20 gallon shallow frag tank that I'm planning on running bare bottom with about 35 mangroves in the back chamber. Was gonna try to do am SPS dominant tank...hope that doesn't conflict with the mangroves. Any way my big question is, "how much water will the mangroves drink daily?" I'm already fighting FL humidity with a 20 gal tank...planning on minimal live rock to get as much water volume as possible. Any thoughts? Link to comment
Subsea
Macroalgae is 90% water. Mangrove would be less water, assume 50%. I do not know how fast mangroves grow. It depends on the enviromental conditions. However, I can't imagine 35 mangroves in a 20G aquarium. They grow to be trees. Good luck. Patrick Link to comment
